BLAKEMAN TRANSPORTATION, INC.
This “Standard Operating Procedures and Accessorial Charges” includes and incorporates by reference all
provisions of the Blakeman “Terms and Conditions of Service” available for review at
www.blakemantrans.com/terms-and-conditions/?contact. The tendering of a load to Blakeman
Transportation (BTI) is acceptance of BTI’s Terms and Conditions. If you have any questions, please

This list of SOPs and Accessorial Charges will help you better understand the Terms and Conditions with
explanation. Listed are Accessorial and SOPs concerning pressing issues that apply to common accessorial
and Operation procedures when accepting, delivering or managing load tenders.
1. DETENTION WITH POWER. Two hours free time will be given at each pickup and delivery.
The applicable charges after expiration of free time is $30.00 every 30 minutes with a maximum
charge of $500.00.
2. PALLET EXCHANGE. Blakeman Transportation Inc. Does not participate in Pallet exchange.
If Blakeman Transportation Inc. is required to purchase pallets a $10.00 surcharge will be added
per pallet on the freight invoice.
3. UNLOADING. Any unloading, segregating and/or sorting charges will be passed through to the
party responsible for the freight payment. In order to maximize the capacity of our outbound
Trailers, Blakeman will pinwheel and/or double stack pallets of product. Unloading charges as a
result of this procedure will not be the responsibility of Blakeman Transportation Inc.
4. ORDER CANCELLATION/SPACE ORDER NOT USED (SONU). Any shipment cancelled
after Wednesday 5pm of the shipping week or within 24 hours of scheduled pickup will be subject
to 100 percent of the freight charges (excluding fuel).
5. CARRIER LOAD/UNLOAD. When the carrier is required to load or unload the trailer, the
applicable charge will be $60.00 per hour, billed in fifteen minute increments, with a minimum
charge of one hour for each load or unload location.
6. FREIGHT DENSITY. Unless otherwise agreed upon, a minimum of 1400 lbs. per pallet will be
used for calculating billing. Actual weight will apply if greater than 1400 lbs.
7. NO TRUCK DOCK. Shipments that are consigned to a facility without a truck dock cannot be
accepted. If a shipment is inadvertently accepted. At the discretion of Blakeman Transportation
Inc. either an additional $250.00 per shipment will apply, the freight will be returned to the shipper
or the freight will be placed in a cold storage for redelivery (which the shipper is responsible for
any charges in addition to the original amount of the load tender). If Blakeman cannot make the
delivery the only responsibility Blakeman will have is to bring the freight to the original location
designated. The shipper will be responsible for any additional charges.
8. DELIVERY SERVICE DATE. Blakeman Transportation Inc. will not reimburse shipper or
consignee for any losses due to delay in delivery. Blakeman Transportation Inc. does not guarantee
an exact delivery date and time therefore will not be responsible for late fees or any other
accessorial charges associated with the consignee.
9. SHIPMENT TENDERS. All orders to be picked up at the end of the week should be tendered prior
to 3pm on Wednesday. All orders to be picked up must be placed 48 hours prior to the requested day
of pick up. Please be aware, this means all orders for Friday Pickup (Weekend Shipping) must be
placed no later than 3 pm on Wednesday. Although we try to accommodate any orders that are
tendered after Wednesday at 3pm, we cannot guarantee that those orders will fit into the outbound
trucks or schedule. Tenders should be sent to the correct division and email with confirmation of the
tender received. All tender correspondence will be responded to as it is received, if not please contact
dispatch@blakemantrans.com. For the orders to be considered complete and ready to ship, all
tenders must include the following:
Your Company name, address, phone number or contact name
Pick up location, name, address, phone number and contact individual
Date and time pick up is available
Total number of pallets, cases, and weight of shipment
Delivery date according to Blakeman Sailing Schedule
Temperature Requirement
Delivery Location name, address, phone number and contact individual
Purchase order number
Any other pertinent information or details regarding the shipment
10. PALLET TAGGING. Pallets must be tagged appropriately at the time of pick up. Blakeman
Transportation is not responsible for pallet condition at the time of pick up. All orders should be
shipped on Grade A Pallets; Chep or similar program is also acceptable. If pallets are shipped
damaged, you will be billed for the pallet replacement at the consolidation point. The information that
must be included on the pallet tag is:
Name of the consignee
Consignee City and State
PO#, number of cases on the pallet
# of pallets for the shipment (1 of 2, 1 of 3)
Temperature requirement (refrigerated or frozen)
The tag must be legible and placed where visible on the pallet.
11. TEMPERATURE CONTROL. Customers with shipments that have special temperature
requirements below 0 degrees F or above 38 degrees F, are required to inform Blakeman
Transportation Inc. of the product requirements before the load tender is sent and accepted. Blakeman
Transportation temp variances are Frozen 0-10 Degrees F, and Chilled 29-38 Degrees F. If a
refrigerated order is tendered, the product will be wrapped with a foam insulated wrap and moved
within our frozen delivery network. Blakeman Transportation will not be responsible for product
arriving outside of the refrigerated temperature range listed 28 to 38 degrees F. The link below will

12. CLAIMS. All claims should be emailed to cc@blakemantrans.com Please indicate in the subject
line the correct corresponding information for the claim.
13. FREIGHT LOSS OR DAMAGE. All loss and Damage claims must be submitted in writing and
follow the regulations set forth by 49 US Code 14706. All claims must be submitted with the proper
claim form and proof of loss. Claims will be paid promptly upon resolution and process of
investigation. Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, Blakeman Transportation Inc. is only
responsible for $2.50 per pound. Additional High Value Insurance can be purchased previous to
Shipment Date. (Contact Sales or Dispatch for more information.) Deductions from freight bills will
also not be accepted per Terms and Conditions. Shipper agrees to allow Blakeman Transportation
Inc. the right to mitigate the loss by sale of salvage. If salvage rights are not granted, a salvage
allowance of 30% of invoice will be deducted in lieu of salvage.
14. DONATIONS/DISPOSAL OF PRODUCT. On Occasion, shipping errors occur such as short
dates, wrong product, etc. In lieu of returning the product to the shipping origin, Blakeman
Transportation Inc. is often asked to donate or dispose of the product. When product must be
disposed, additional charges are sometimes incurred. When such charges are incurred, Blakeman
Transportation Inc. will pass those charges along to the party responsible for freight payment.
15. PROHIBITED COMMODITIES. Due to sensitive nature of the product, Blakeman Transportation
Inc. cannot accept tendered orders of the following items unless otherwise agreed upon.
Ice Cream/Frozen Yogurt
Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Refrigerated Seafood
Certain packaged liquids/Water Based Products/Yogurt (Contact Sales)
Should Blakeman Transportation Inc. inadvertently receive any of the above items the shipper agrees
to hold Blakeman Transportation Inc. harmless for any temperature issues that may arise concerning
product spoilage and/or impact.
16. FUEL SURCHARGE. Please reference the Blakeman Fuel Surcharge table. Fuel Surcharge applies
to freight the week it is picked up. Please visit the DOE website (https://www.eia.gov/petroleum
/gasdiesel/) as well as the Blakeman complete fuel table which can be requested from
sales@blakemantrans.com.
17. LTL SAILING SCHEDULE. Our LTL Sailing schedule can be requested at
sales@blakemantrans.com or through the division that freight originates out of.
18. QUOTES. Please reach out to our sales staff for quotes and/or direction on service and rates.
