As everyone is aware, the Coronavirus / COVID-19 Outbreak has impacted the world both economically and personally. The team at Blakeman Transportation holds in highest regards the freight, personnel, and the safety of all partners and communities. With this being said, Blakeman Transportation Inc. has implemented the following additional policies to protect our Customers and their freight, our Staff, and the Independent Carriers that Blakeman Transportation Inc uses. Effective immediately our sales staff has been instructed to work from locations that do not require in person interaction for the next 2 weeks at a minimum. Again, this is to protect all parties and limit the exposure to transmission. In addition to our sales team, we have implemented and are implementing procedures and internal operational strategies that support both our internal practices to service freight without dispatch interruption. This could include but not limited to remote dispatch. In regards to our LTL and networks, as of now we do not have any delays and/or closures. We have seen and been made aware of practices of consignees that have changed to limit interaction. Our Staff will update and communicate when these changes are noticed and/or we have been notified. We will keep all posted if a situation comes up where our network is impacted. Our carriers, much like our clients are vital in the success of Blakeman Transportation Inc. We are currently adhering to policies and procedures both shippers and receivers are requesting. In an associated effort, we are asking our carriers to limit in person interaction along the trails of travel, be mindful of the impact the current situation (viral impact) is having and put the consideration of our client’s freight and well-being foremost. If and should a carrier exhibit possible symptoms and Blakeman is notified, we will at once disclose any and all information regarding that carrier’s travels. Our position as a provider is to work along with both the carrier group and client base to do everything in our power to limit the chance of viral infection. We will work closely with all, over the next few weeks, to do our part as a transportation provider to conduct business that keeps our clients, staff, and partners safe and in the know. Our commitment to you in entrusting your business and livelihood in Blakeman Transportation is to be fully committed during this Viral Outbreak and make decisions that have the best interest and safety in mind.
